Advertising to recruit participants

An advertisement calling for participants should include the following information:

  • The nature of the research project and the scope of the trial
  • Which type/group of subjects might be included
  • The investigator clinically/scientifically responsible for the trial 
  • The person, responsible for the project, name, address, organisation, to contact for information
  • That sensitive information about those responding might become part of be registries made up for the trial
  • The procedure followed to contact those interested to participate
  • Any compensation for expenses
  • A response on the part of a potential subject only signifies interest to obtain further information. Actual participation is the subject of the procedures described above.
